From Code to Connection: How My BCA Years Shaped My Leadership Path

During my Bachelor of Computer Applications, I had the unique opportunity to complete my final project under the guidance of the former Scientific Advisor to President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

As a Student Project Director, I led a small team in designing and implementing a COBOL program that processed fundamental operations — a project that mirrored the discipline and precision of real-world data systems. Managing workflow, testing, and documentation deepened not only my technical foundations but also my early understanding of structured problem-solving and leadership in a team setting.

That experience marked the beginning of my lifelong learning journey — where every problem became a puzzle, and every project an opportunity to lead with clarity and purpose.

Years later, when I met him again during his visit to the United States, it felt like coming full circle — a moment of gratitude, reflection, and reaffirmation that learning never truly ends; it simply evolves into legacy. And this time, he didn’t come alone — he arrived with his own mentor, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the President himself. It was a moment to cherish, one that felt like witnessing the circle of mentorship come beautifully full.

“Education gave me the tools; experience gave me direction. Together, they built the leader I am becoming.”
